At KWA Tresham for Higher Education we believe in investing heavily into our facilities and resources. 2021 has seen the development of 3 new studio spaces for Graphic Design, Fashion and Photography.
A new bespoke Fashion studio has been created on the second floor of the creative arts wing including critique table, large pattern cutting table, plus size mannequins, large pattern cutting machine, heat press, industrial sewing machines and overlockers. A sophisticated space designed for the next generation of up and coming fashion and textile designers.
The new Graphic Design studio is equipped with 20 new desktop Macs and the latest industry software, a large critique table, large Wacom drawing tablets and a product shoot table. We have also invested in a laser cutting machine and 3D printer to extend students ideas from paper to product, producing 3D rather than 2D outcomes, bringing an extra dimension to visual communication.
In photography we have added several new enlargers to the dark room and offer a large format camera this year. The classrooms within photography now include work benches around the classroom with high spec PC's with the latest Adobe software, these include monitor hoods for editing, to reduce glare and enhance colour accuracy. Both Photography rooms include large critique tables to promote active discussions, offering students key opportunities to present their work to an audience continuously. Further investment will be evident in 2022/23 in preparation to deliver the Photography BA Top Up (L6) and FAD program, watch this space....
